Not sure what their eggs are made of, but they don’t taste like normal eggs—even the woman who prepared them admitted they’re strange, they pour them from a bag. To be fair, they look and taste the same as “eggs” at residence Inn in Fairfield Inn. We have been loyal Marriott customers for years, and I don’t understand why so many of their hotels have frosted glass in their bathroom doors. It’s not like it really does anything for style because, at least in most of the rooms, the doorway opens into a hallway. All I know is when you’re sharing the room with somebody and they need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, it lights up the entire room when they close the door and turn the bathroom lights on. Pretty bad design unless you’re staying by yourself. Also Marriott feels like they’re being penny-wise and pound-foolish by charging the elite members in their M club lounge happy hour for a glass of wine or domestic unimaginative beer. I know when we’ve stayed at Hyatt properties. Hyatt, at least at the properties where we’ve stayed, treated their elites with a little more deference. The staff were nice, the facilities were fairly clean and well kempt, and it’s a perfectly fine place to stay. Just don’t expect to be blown away. Also be sure your staff are properly trained, or adequately supervised, when they are checking in people to the hotel. Our guy was clearly new and extremely nice, but he didn’t know a lot about the elite benefits, and of course we didn’t know what the hotel offered either.

This review is for a two-night stay in June 2025. This hotel deserves its reputation for great service at the front desk and restaurant. The agent who checked me in was engaging and extremely helpful. The rooms are typical of the flagship Marriott label — well appointed, comfortable and modern. Excellent location within walking distance of Georgetown proper and close to great attractions and restaurants. Will definitely return when I'm back in town.

The hotel itself is great – the rooms were clean, the location convenient, and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We felt welcome and well taken care of throughout our stay. However, our experience with the breakfast restaurant was very disappointing. Even though we had prepaid for breakfast as part of our booking, the restaurant staff pressured us daily to leave a tip. When we didn’t, they made us wait noticeably longer for our food on the following days and remained unfriendly. The breakfast selection was extremely limited, the coffee was always cold and watery, and the prices for additional items were unreasonably high. While the restaurant may not be operated directly by the hotel, it is part of the guest experience – especially since breakfast can be booked through Marriott. I would give the restaurant 1 star

Good rooms, good location. Not actually Georgetown, it's just nearby in West End, which is likely more convenient for most people. Rooms were relatively nice and spacious, especially when compared to other DC hotels. Service is ok. Breakfast staff were very nice. M executive lounge for bonvoy platinum and above members included free breakfast, afternoon snacks, etc. Breakfast was basic eggs, bacon, continental, etc...nothing special there. Good if you're here for business and get a good rate, but I wouldn't stay here on my own dime. Better than the nearby Westin, especially if you're a platinum member. I only rated 4 star because of the good corporate rate I got, but it would probably be three stars if I had to pay a regular rate.

Stayed here for 1 night for business - solid Marriott but certainly not the nicest Marriott I've stayed in. Didn't really have a Marriott feel, maybe a bit closer to a courtyard feel. Overall rooms/hallways/building felt it was getting just a bit dated, but rooms were clean and nice enough. Shower had lower water pressure, towels were just okay (a bit scratchy but not terrible), and bed/pillows were fine. I have Gold status and was put in a room on the 5th floor with absolutely no view - I should have asked for a higher floor with a view but it's in my profile. If you have a preference I would be sure to ask when you check in as some rooms are just looking at a roof out the window. Breakfast quality was average for these types of properties, but service was excellent I had a veggie omelet within 10 minutes of entering the restaurant. Coffee was also particularly good, unexpectedly so for coffee served with breakfast which isn't usually very good. Also not sure about the area but there was a fair bit of yelling on the street at like 11pm-12am. Could have been a one off. Overall this is an okay hotel. Just fine.

I had a wonderful stay at the Washington Marriott Georgetown! The service was exceptional. The front desk ladies, Aretha and Nathaly, were incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive always ready with a smile! The manager Danielle went above and beyond to make sure my experience was perfect, ensuring every detail was taken care of. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. This hotel is very well run thanks to its amazing staff, and thank you to the entire team for making my stay so enjoyable I will definitely be returning!
